Garold. Sequel

2025 — 2026
The project "Garold. Sequel" is a series of paintings that continues the story of the Harold universe. The beginning of the project explores the theme of the hero-savior and the search for inner strength. The sequel, in turn, examines motifs of transformation, love, and freedom of choice through a parable in which the character undergoes a path of heroic initiation.

It tells the story of the Bell Boy, who becomes a "big shot" thanks to the enlargement of his pineal gland, and the Flower Girl, the daughter of a flower baron, who becomes a goddess and bears a child from the Boy. Their wedding is blessed with magical pollen. One of the paintings depicts a dark and menacing house — the home of the Girl’s father, who opposed their marriage. But love prevails, and nothing can stand in the way of the heroes' happiness.

Description
In a surreal homage space, bare figures with lampshades in place of heads have taken the place of the infanta and her ladies-in-waiting, while the dog has transformed into a three-headed cat. Everything has been turned upside down, and from within this chaos—like a modern-day chimera—a suspended, upside-down Batman gazes back at the viewer. This dialogue between forms stripped of their familiar roles becomes the fuel that generates a new version of reality.

Description
After completing their journey and freeing themselves into the depths of their own hearts—reshaping reality in the process—the heroes gather around a circular table suspended in space. There, they will decide the fate of all things.

This is what comes after "happily ever after": the happy ending isn’t a finale—it's a beginning. A shift into a deeper openness and responsibility. Nothing truly heartfelt is forgotten or discarded here.

The round table, set in a hall floating across the cosmos, feels like a secret lodge—a sacred conclave, a mystery. A threshold between sacred and mundane, secrecy and revelation, what’s been achieved and what’s yet to come. The heroes don’t just speak; they embody a new order of being.

Beneath this table, a child peeks out—the child of the Flower Girl and the Bell Boy (now the "Big Shot"). In esoteric tradition, what’s hidden under a veil is the innermost core, the secret within the secret, where all things are reborn. Even as this council decides the fates of worlds, the next cycle is already sprouting: a new game, a new sincerity.

The circle has closed—and opened again. So it may all begin once more.

Ceramic sculpture "Transfer" engages with the European tomb tradition, blending ancient and medieval features. The sarcophagus form is used not simply as a receptacle for remains, but as a symbolic bridge between the living and the dead.
At the work’s core is a double sarcophagus depicting heroes from the Harold universe. In antiquity and the early Middle Ages, married couples were often shown reclining at a feast to represent unity beyond death. Famous Etruscan sarcophagi capture this gesture—husband and wife sharing a meal in the afterlife. This tradition continued in early Christian monuments, where the focus shifted from mourning death to the promise of rebirth.

A key detail is the male figure, marked by heightened vitality. Imagery on sarcophagi was meant to ensure the deceased’s passage to new life; here, physicality becomes a symbol of life force defying death. It signifies love and devotion that persist beyond existence. Ancient tradition, reimagined through the medieval hope of resurrection, meets the artist’s own mythology—turning the tomb into a story of eternal connection.
